Saint Casimir, Lithuania’s patron saint is honoured every year in Vilnius during Kaziukas Fair (also known as St Casimir’s Fair) that dates back to the 17th century. The main marketplace fills with folk art, crafts, music and dance, attracting thousands.

To celebrate Kaziukas Fair, a large annual folk arts and crafts fair, Band Aisva came along from Lithuania to keep up the tradition of the beginning of spring. .

“AISVA”- a modern folklore band, was formed on 27th of March, 2007 in Jonava town, Lithuania. The Band usually arranges and plays Lithuanian folk songs in which folk is mixed with various modern styles of music. The group performs at city festivals in Lithuania and abroad, television shows, participate in contests. Their songs broadcast on radio stations. The band also toured the Latvian Lithuanian community celebration in Bauska and visited Ireland for Fly Mayo Festival “We still need the wings” in  Ballinrobe 2010, Ireland.

Being still a very young band they have already taken part  in Music Competition “House of Music 2009” and participated in semi finals. They are also a winner of Silja symphony song 13 contest and participants of song contest ‘Austa Ausrele’.

Starting at 12am, March 13th with an arts and craft fair in Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar and continuing with concert featuring ‘Aisva’ starting at 6pm on the same day.
